So last weekend, I got a Lew Horton Model 29 with a 3" barrel for less than $400. Today, I acquired (from a very nice fellow here in Dallas) a 696-1 S&W .44 special with box, papers and even the warranty card. Gun is in perfect condition and shows minimal useage.

stainless, easy to shoot, throws big ol' heavy slugs, and no lock.

whats not to love?

Congratulations! You have yourself a real winner. I love my 696 no dash and wouldn't trade or sell it for any price...

I ordered some smooth rosewood Eagle Secret Service grips for it. When I get them on, I'll post another couple of pics. I am so very happy with this gun so far. Very accurate and some pride of ownership - which is something missing from most of the other guns that have passed through my hands...
