I'm looking at buying a new 945. The price is right at $1195. It's the two tone model.

Are they any opinions or owners of this model that can give me insight about how these shoot? Also how do they perform over high end 1911's? This will not be a conceal gun for me. I want a accurate and reliable range gun.

Thanks

I can't tell you about the newer models of the 945. I bought mine when they first came out on the strength of one magazine article about it. I've bought several autos since that time including two STIs in 9mm and .45 ACP. I also had a Kimber .45. None of them have ever out shot that 945. It has been dependable as the day is long and feeds LSWC without a hitch. Accuracy has been topnotch.

I bought this slightly used 945 a couple years ago. A few minutes later I was on the range, and this was my very 1st "sight in" target.

It's only gotten better from there.

I own several dozen handguns, many would fall into most folks "high end" category, including a few 1911's. The 945 is flat out the easiest gun to shoot accurately that I own, or have ever shot.

I had a 5" stainless 945. I loved that gun, and truely regret selling it. It was originally purchased vfor bullseye, but it wasn't quite accurate enough for my tastes, and it wasn't legal for leg matches, so I sold it.

Before you read that as me saying it was inaccurate, from a ransom rest, it would put 10 rounds through 2" at 25 yards. I was looking for 2" at 50.
