Hello,
I just traded my Kahr CM40 in for the Shield .40. So far it's great. Only thing I noticed so far is that the trigger seems to bind if I don't position my finger very low. Will this ease up over time? The only thing I don't like about this gun is that stupid trigger safety. I supposed I will get used to it over time. Also, do I need to worry about a break-in period? The manual doesn't say anything about this but I figured I'd ask anyway.

Thanks.

Not sure what you mean by seems to bind

Thats not been a problem on my Shield 40

The gun will smooth up after just a few range trips

Your finger should go on the lower part of the trigger so the trigger safety will deactivate properly. That may be why you think it is binding up on you. I called Smith about a small issue with my Shield and the first question the guy on the other end of the line asked is "Do you have 200 rounds through it yet?" He basically told me to call back when I did. They will loosen up and get smoother after a couple hundred rounds. Shoot it and be happy.

It sounds like you aren't disengaging the trigger safety built into the two part jointed trigger.

The easiest way to allow you to place your finger anywhere you'd like on the trigger is to added an Apex Tactical Specialties' AEK polymer trigger
