Just handled, did not shoot, the M&P and man I liked how it felt. It seems a bit more svelt than the XD, which I like very much. Anyone have one of these? Let me know what they are like.

I like my M&P40, not quite as much as the XD45 though. The M&P just got back from Smith after suffering from light primer strikes. They replaced the firing pin and barrel. I have about 100rds through and I had one round that failed to ignite. I reloaded it in the pistol 3 times before it went off. I'm heading to the range this weekend to put it through the paces.

I love mine. :D :D It is comfortable, has a nice trigger pull, and it is accurate. I have never had a FTE or FTF since I bought it. I would have to say I have put over 1,000 rounds of various brands, such as Winchester, Speer, Remington, Lancerammo, and Independance. I like my M&P .40 so much I am probably going to get the M&P 9mm next week.

the M&P .40 is awesome. i was comparing weather to buy the S&W, a Glock 22, or an XD .40. i chose the M&P and i have no regrets. the xd and mp are pretty similar however i did not like the grip saftey on the xd, made holding it uncomfortable. i would highly recommend the M&P .40 for both a range gun, as well as home defense.

I have considerable trigger time on an M&P .40, just around 5,000rnds total. I have no use for a .40 cal weapon at this time, but I would not hesitate to buy one of these if I did. I like it alot more that the Glock 22/23, XD, etc. The trigger is perfect for me, as is the overall "feel" of the weapon. I suffered a total of 4 malfunctions, but were magazine related. The sample I had was provided with 6 15rnd magazines and was a test gun. 2 of the magazines had weak springs that failed to hold the slide open on the last round. They also caused 2 feed jams, since the rounds weren't coming up fast enough to feed properly. Replaced the springs, and went back to 100% function.
