Should I loctite it? I was puzzled by my wandering groups until I saw it was loose... again
I assume you mean lower the rear sight as far as possible, but good idea. I'll do that.
I must not be understanding how it works. I thought front screw secures the front of the "spring" and the rear screw raises it and thus increases tension as it lifts the rear sight higher.Raise it. You want the tension off the front screw. It’s holding the spring tension opposite of the rear adjustment screw. The rear sight screw pulls down on the spring tension as you tighten it.
Honestly, it won’t make much of a difference. It’s just a little easier to get the front screw in if you’re not having to push down on the rear sight “tail” for lack of a better term.
Ah, got it. Thanks.View attachment 846378 If you tightened the front screw, with no rear screw, the rear sight would be, physically, very high. The rear adjustment screw pulls it down, under spring tension.
It has a little bit of curve.
