S&W model 31-1 .32S&W-long

What cartridges will work with this revolver? My father-in-law used .32 S&W, .32 S&W Long, and had several other cartridges with it...

The revolver is in excellent condition and has Ser #H54790 on the butt and on the cylinder swing arm has 15113, N below that, and G7 stamped below that. It's my wife's gun...she carried it while she grew up in rural South Carolina and while driving to college.

Any other information you can supply about this old revolver would be appreciated!

Your gun was made about 1972.

It is chambered for the .32 S&W Long cartridge, although the less powerful .32 S&W can also be used.
Also the .32 Colt New Police.

Do not attempt to use .32 ACP, (.32 Auto) .32 Short or Long Colt, .32 H&R Magnum, .327 Federal, or 32 WCF (32-20) in it.
