What is the difference between a model 36 & 60 sw?

The Model 60 is stainless, actually it was the first stainless steel gun. The model 36 is typically blued, though there were some nickle ones as well. They are fantastic weapons, you can never have enough J frames.

A polished model 60 and a nickel 36 would look alike. That is why we look at model numbers..........I guess

Can the 36 handle a steady diet of .38+P?

The S&W model 36 is +P rated; however, I don't recommend a steady diet of
+P in any gun. If you want to practice, do so with standard pressure ammo;
and only carry +P's for self defense. At least that is what I do~!
