I went to Timonium MD gun show after work tonight. Bogus as usual, but better than TV.
I found a pitted, beat to $heeit modl 36 that had been parkerized, and had an old set of grips on it. At first glance they were nothing special. I picked up the gun, and they felt great!
Grips had Herret's medallions, were pretty thin (almost like a grip panel on a 1911, but thicker), completely covered the "backstrap" of the revolver, and were about 1/2" longer than the butt of the frame. Grips were not checkered, but serrated. They had a very gradual, gentle curve.
I don't know the model, but would love to get a set of these for my 36. Seller would not sell them off the gun because he had no replacement. I'm thinking of going back to trade him my original j frame grips plus cash, but still not sure he'd do it.
Anybody familiar with what I'm talking about? Where I can find a set? Thanks!
