For my first revolver purchase I am looking really hard at the S&W 629 .44MAG/.44SP 4" for my outdoor adventures.

Is there anything to look for that would make it more favorable? I have seen some folks talk about different models of the 629 and the variances. Please post any thoughts. From what I have researched adn read on this model, its all be great so far. Thanks and I am VERY excited to put this next to my 1911 .45 ACP, I think this is much better than a glock! :neener:

S&W Mountain Guns are SWEET. I own 3, a 686, a 625, and a 657. I had a 629 Mountain gun at one point, but sold it, as I prefer .41 Magnum to the .44, especially in the lightweight Mountain Gun configuration.

I also prefer the 41 mag Mountain Gun to the 44. It is a tad tamer to shoot and has plenty of punch for most any situation. But the 44 is a great gun and you won't be sorry choosing the Mountain Gun configuration.
