S&W new departure value

I have a very nice "safety hammerless" that had a broken cylinder stop. I have rebuilt the broken part, and have the gun fully functional. Manufacture date 1898, about the 200th 4th model made. The gun is in excellent shape. The stamp on the frame indicates factory reblue in 1966, to which the gun still looks almost new. The bakelite grips are worn but original. All internal parts are original. Tonight I will prove the gun functional by firing it. I am looking to sell locally but may put it up for sale here provided I can figure out how to legally ship the gun for a reasonable price. What should I expect to get out of the gun? I will post pictures later to help with that but I have pics posted of it here on THR.

What barrel length?

If it was made during or before 1898 it's considered to be an antique, and free of regulations concerning transfer of a firearm in Federal statutes. But check what your state or local laws say.

Collector and Cowboy Action shooters have tended to drive prices up, particularly on fully functional examples. I would say $300 to $350. If the original barrel length is less then 3 1/2" double those values, but you may need to have it lettered by S&W to prove it.
