S&W SD9, M&P 17rd 9x19mm magazines.....

Any forum members know if the M&P 17rd 9mm can work correctly in a S&W SD9/SD9VE?
I know the SD9 pistol is considered a entry level or no-frills gun but I may get one to use this summer on security details.

Rusty, I have the SD9 and it is a fantastic gun for the money. However, the M&P mags will not function in the SD9. The sigma mags will work in the SD9.

The SD9VE gets my vote too. Got one last Xmas and it is a great pistol. It would serve you well.

Hey rusty shackleford youll love the sd9 just get a good pair of night sights and some sigma magazines and your good to go.

I got 1 of the Sigmas some years ago & found it to be a sleeper! They were almost giving them away! Someone bought that Sigma & about 6 months went by & I saw the SD9! I could not believe the deals on them when they came out. It has a better grip than the Glock &looked real nice! Worked as well as my Glock, maybe better? I think this is one of the best deals out there! I have used it to take out pests ( skunks & coons) . This gun is accurate & very reliable! I would carry this for any job the Glock would work. Grab some Sigma mag.s, as they hold 1 extra rd. This is one fine pistol! It will need some nite sights. S&W M&P sights will fit, that's what I used. If it gets a scratch or 2 it won't bother you so much! You will have to much fun shooting it! This would also work as a main carry gun! It is almost the same size as a Glock 19. Enjoy!
