Last month, I picked a new 8 3/8 460 XVR. What a cannon..! But the thin monogrips that came on the XVR smack the lower palm of my hand in the worst way. After 30 rounds, I had a swollen lump that was tender to the touch. I also have HUGE hands. Think XXL or XXXL glove sizes.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a grip that is wider/thicker at the rear? I do not mind paying for quality. Nor do I mind using wood. I sometimes find wood actually lessens felt recoil with the proper grip style and size.
Oh, the load is Starline .460 brass, 300 grain XTP-Mag, with 39.0 grains of H110 with CCI LRM primer. These loads were very accurate and chrono'd at 1930-1950 fps.
Does the X-frame take K, L, or N frame grip sizes.?
Any thoughts would be helpful. Thank you in advance to all THR inmates.
