Look who introduced the Bill.:barf: :barf: :barf: :barf:

Mr. LAUTENBERG (for himself, Mr. CORZINE, Mr. SCHUMER, Mrs. BOXER, Mr. KENNEDY, Mr. DURBIN, Ms. MIKULSKI, Mr. SARBANES, Mr. REED, Mr. AKAKA, Mr. DODD, and Mrs. CLINTON) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

so it really kept assault -style weapons out of the hands of criminals and terrorists.

Apparently we are all criminals and terrorists now.

Dont they realize that even attempting this would spur gun owners to purchase more and more weapons before they are able to ban it. This is only causing a rush on buying weapons.

Hopefully, the President knows that semi-auto weapons can't spray bullets, or create a hale of lead.

Do you think Lautenberg really knows so little about guns, or is this just inflamatory BS and he's hoping to pull the wool over the Prez's eyes? I think, probably the latter. No one but Rosie and her followers are that clueless.

A pox on this man. :fire:

As for Lautenberg croaking-there are 3 waiting to take his place-just like Bin Laden and blackbirds.

They dont intend them to pass. Just the seed planting process. Later they can say "proposed xx years ago and 18 x since and not it MUST pass"..... right after another judge released felon shoots up something.

Um guys, the original post is from 2005. This is the bill that they tried to introduce, after the original one was allowed to sunset.

As far as I can remember this never even got out of committee.

Chris

This bill dies at the end of this year and won't be in the new Congress. That doesn't mean we're out of the woods, but it is inlikely this will pass - at least for now.

I think were all just a little scared.

I was listening to the radio the other morning. Some show called infozone or something on 101.9 in Chicago. They had a guy from the "2nd Amendment Research Center" on. Dr. Saul Cornell, he is a teacher at Ohio State University, and he was talking about how both sides are right and wrong about the 2nd Amendment. Basically he was an anti pretending to be a moderate. He was talking about how the government has the right to regulate the militia which is the people. He then started talking about how the 2nd amendment is about the ability to rebel against government but the government should also be able to regulate the militia which is there in case the government goes bad.

Anyways I strongly suspect that gun control will be a major issue. Dick Durbin is the majority whip in the senate and I suspect will be the President Pro Tempore in 2008. And there is a strong interest in seeing Obama run. Both of these men are extreme antigunners. Hillary is also talking of running and we know how she feels towards guns.

THen Bloomberg and McCain are talking about running as well. They are not to friendly towards gun owners as well. So be prepared and on guard. I plan to stock up now on magazines.

You are spelling his name wrong, folks. It's spelled Lousenberg.

I guess I will have to sell off part of my pre-64 Winchester collection to afford one of those new fangled FN FS2000 rifles. Darn! My interest is primarily in classic big game hunting rifles and old revolvers, but now my hand has been forced by the likes of Mr. Lousenberg. Don't want to find myself without one after it's outlawed and kicking myself for not getting one when I could.

These people make me sick.

Do they honestly believe that this crap helps? Are they that stupid? Or, do they do know it doesn't help but just furthers their agenda toward socialism?

One interesting...

feature of this apparently been dead for a while bill is that it specifically names the mini-14 as one of those horrible "assault rifles" but fails to mention the mini-30. Or maybe I just missed it on the list.

Actually, this post and bill are from March 2005. So it should have been pretty clear to everybody voting this past November what the Dems had in store.

Coyote-Jr, I am NOT jumping any guns here.

I'm just taking to heart everything that good Dem voters on this board told me.

Good Libertarian voters told me much the same thing, in their zeal to get the Repubs out of office.

Even some Repub voters "took principled stands" and told me the same thing and voted to get those eeeeevil Repubs out of office.

Coyote_Jr, I am merely taking the lessons taught to me, over and over, to heart and doing my part to keep folks educated.

I've been convinced. It's the gospel truth and the way and the light.

The Dems are NOT antis.

Despite everything you may have seen for the last 30 years, like the Dems passing the AWB, or Ted Kennedy arguing on the floor of the US Senate for a ban on .30-30 lever action ammo because it's "Armor piercing" or the Dem's wild support for the Brady Bill, or the Dem's attempt to reinstitute the AWB when the eeeevil Repubs let it expire, the Dems are NOT antis.

Not jumping any guns, Coyote_Jr......I'm just doing my part to spread the good news that I was told over and over on this very board.

It's simply not possible.

The Dems are NOT anti-gun........

"How many pistols are on the market that feed from other than the grip?"

It's basically the Tec 9 and a ton of competition specific pistols afaik.

The Kel-Tec PLR-16 .223 pistol falls under this as well. Actually I was surprised they didn't include it by name.

I would say the biggest reason not to freak out about this today is the fact that it was proposed and failed in 2005.

Check your calendars.

Mike
