I was firing off a few rounds today with my SA mil-spec gov't model using after market mags and when a full mag was inserted and the slide lock released a round came out the ejection port on me. Is this a magazine problem? Can the top of the mag be bent downward slightly on the edges to grip the rounds better? Could it be a pistol problem? The factory mag works perfectly. Just junk aftermarkets?

What do you think?

Thanks

it sounds like the mag is releasing rounds too soon in the reloading cycle.

this isn't usually fixable, but the manufacturer might still warranty them. what brand of mags are they? some manufacturers are very good about replacing malfunctioning mags

Live round ejection from magazine during recoil:

Weak magazine spring. (This one sometimes ejects the next to last round and feeds the last round.) Last round ejection of live round is the dread Gunshoppe Commando Syndrome..."Lack-a-Dimple". Weak mag spring is also a player.

I have a Kimber Target II and it was doing the same thing with the factory mag. I bought a Wilson Combat and a Kimber Pro-Tac Mag and problem solved. I am just waiting for a some Wolff springs that I ordered to see if that will fix the factory magazines.

I found some springer mags on cheaper than dirt's site for 14 bucks. I'm gonna get a few of them and see what the deal is
