I'm having difficulty obtaining a consistant sight picture with my Ruger .32mag stainles single six 4-5/8" barrel, fixed rear sight, smooth front sight blade six gun. I am comfortable with the grip, weight, hand-loadings, etc.

My groups are not as small as they could be because I cannot see a clear and repeatable sight picture due to the smooth and shiny front sight blade. So I end up enlarging the groups because I'm not seeing the same aim picture each time.

I think this is a very accurate gun which shoots to my point of aim. But I know it would group smaller from a machine rest. But not only do I not have a machine rest, I will not be buying one.

My 4" model 10 Smith (also fixed sights) has a stepped rear edge to the front sight which is much easier to see well. My groups are very tight indeed with this police revolver.

Yes, I'm resting my forearms on a solid rest in both cases.

Here is a photo of both front sight blades. What do you Cowboy shooters do to get a clear sight picture with your SA revolvers?

CAS shooters live with it.

You however can dull your sight temporarly by spraying it with foot powder or something...if that solves your problem, and you want to make it permanent, you can mask off the gun with masking tape, and have the top strap and front sight bead blasted by your gunsmith or local body shop.

You can also have different styles of front sights made for it.

Use a match to darken it up with the carbon produced. I've had to do it in the field on a number of occasions. A little "olde school", but it works.
