Red Cent, the timer was started before shooting the first five shots and stops when ever you stop shooting. You have to review your shot to shot progress in split times. So you just look at your time when you find the 5th shot then the next shot (after the reload) will show your split time. LM
 
I've played around some with TUFF brand speed strips for .45 Colt. Eject all empties and reload from speed strip one at a time. I also tried using a Colt .45 mag with Schofield rounds but it was not as sure as the speed strips. I played with both enough to know that I can reload a 1911 a whole lot faster.:)

I carry 2 Bianchi speed strips when I carry my SA Sheriff's model, works fantastic!
