Does anyone know a source for loading data for SABOT rounds (.223 JHP in .308 SABOT)? Projectiles are averaging 61 gr and will be loaded in 30M1 (Rifle & revolver), 7.62 x 39, and 7,62 x 25.

Accurate Arms used to have that data in their loading manual, don't know if they still do.
AA is owned by Western powder now give them a call they might have the data handy

I have 2 half bags of them that others have given me when they gave up. I also find that they are a poor performer in the 30 cal loadings. I have a 223 and 222 that will run rings around these things. Even my 22 Hornet is a better deal. I doubt that you could even hit a deer let alone a chuck at 100 feet with a sabot round. I could not even do it (deer sized target) with 2 boxes of Remington 30-06 sabot factory rounds that I also had given to me.:banghead: Seems the only thing that they work well in these days are shotguns and muzzle loaders.

Although I've only played with the sabots on a limited basis I got pretty decent result using them in my Chinese SKS rifle about 4" groups at 100 yds. they cycled through the action just like regular ammo. I think I could probably get them to do better if the sabots were .311 instead of .308 but I don't have that option since nobody make them that dia. Might have to try and paper patch one up some day.

The Hornady .224 dia. 218 Bee 45 gr. HP bullet is pretty nasty out of the 7.62 x 25 sabot load as well.
