Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum. I've been shopping around for a new safe, & I'm just looking for some advice... Originally had decided on an AMSEC BF 6636. I figured that I should shop around, to give myself a few options. I went to another store and looked at a Superior Supreme, & a Summit Denali. All seem like great safes (RSC's). Just a little confused... Thanks in advance for any input.

Welcome to the forum.
I'd give Liberty safes a look. If you can make the space for it, get one bigger than you think you'll need. Consider fire protection.

BigBear21;

As long as you're in the better RSC market, the AMSEC and Summit Denali are good choices. Personally, I feel the Liberty's are a triumph of marketing over substance. But, I'm just speaking as a former professional safe specialist you understand.

Defective AMSEC BF & AMSEC's Lack Of Interest

My advice is to stay away from the AMSEC BF series. Folks have been having some quality problems with warping doors that stress and de-laminate the door assembly. Plus AMSEC one year warranty on that model is pretty weak.

There is a very recent thread (2016) called Defective AMSEC BF & AMSEC's Lack Of Interest on another web site, with pictures. Just Google the title

I recently moved up from an AMSEC and Cannon to a Custom Brown Safe. Here's the link

Thanks for the advice everyone, I'll keep you guys posted on what I end up getting. I'll tell you this,DEFINITELY WON'T BE AN AMSEC!!! A company that doesn't stand by there product & warranty, will not be getting my business...

Several years ago we were in the market for a good RSC, and I did quite a bit of research. I found that many brands build RSCs like refrigerators - thin steel shell and liner, with lots of insulation in between, with a beautiful paint job. While at the local Liberty dealer, I saw a Summit Denali. Went home and researched it thoroughly, went back and got a Denali 60. 3/16" body, 1/2" door, 1700 lbs empty. It's a beast. When we moved, I hired the same dealer to move it and re-install it. If I were buying another today, I'd go with another Denali.

I agree with TeachU2, for an RSC class gun safe the Summit Denali is a beast. Another well made RSC to consider which I own personally is Sturdy Safe; they will let you customize the safe with additional steel for not much more money and they have a lifetime warrantee. Also agree on staying away from the AMSEC BF, 1 year warranty and a lot of complaints on the web = not a good choice.
