Safer Holster?

Kevlar? Now there's an idea worth some thought; lighter than steel, malleable and used to stop lead in other venues.

You can see in the video I linked that it also trapped the bullet within the kevlar.

You'd need to find a way to attach the Kevlar to the body of the holster that would handle the energy dump; Kevlar thread attaching a liner throughout the entire body of the holster might work, or just might make an ND rip the holster off your belt.

Did you pick up on the first words of my post; "I've often wondered if it would make any sense..."? I never advocated or recommended anything; only threw out an idea to maybe think about. If you're so committed to a theme ("proper training is the issue here, not an unsafe holster design"), I guess there's no reason to explore any idea any further. I thought I was addressing a mature audience (members of The High Road); members well versed in what constitutes proper safety protocols. Most of us would never disagree that "proper training" is important-but I wasn't referencing training. Nor was I referencing an "unsafe holster design".

Am not committed to anything, and I think you should personally explore your revolutionary idea by making such a holster and trying it out. How much more supportive of you and your idea can I be?
