Saiga 12 Ga.

I really like my Saigas but they are not my do all shotgun. They are a blast to shoot and as far as I am concerned the more platforms you can master the better shooter you become. I will through out the course of the year use every action I have at my disposal. I am not sure which is my favorite but my Benelli pumper and my Remington auto seem to find their way into the truck when chasing waterfowl more than the rest. When it comes to small game and smaller birds it is almost always a 410 or 28ga.

No one has mentioned this so I guess its not an issue in your state but:

In many states depending on the hunting season etc. shotgun magazines are limited to two rounds, and a game warden may check your gun for a plug in the tube magazine in fact require one. A violation of that rule results in a fine or loss of your hunting license.
I'm pretty sure you cant use a saiga 10 rounder, where I live in any hunting season.

Not sure about your state.

If I was going to hunt deer or other animals with a shotgun, I'd prefer to use a longer, rifled barrel.
not me. If I was in Canada i would have no problem using a 14inch smooth bore. Deer hunting around where i'm at your usually close enough to pull a Rambo First blood hog hunting technique. No need for 28 inch barrels unless you want to poke the deer to scare them to death, besides just get caught up in branches.
