Saiga Scope Mount

Hey Guys-

I've seen a lot of posts about this but most are older. I recently picked up a 7.62 Saiga rifle with 16" barrel. I would like to mount a red dot on it, but am having trouble finding a mount like I want.

I have looked at the Ultimak but it seems most people prefer to use the side mount.

I've seen lots of people recommend the BP-02 mount from Tantal but they are out of stock. I've also seen people recommend other high dollar mounts.

I simply want a nice way to mount a red dot on my saiga for an affordable price. I wouldnt mind modifying a BP-02 mount to center it over the bore and lower it like lots of people do, but I would prefer a mount that's already low and centered.

Check Ebay, Eastwave sells them there for $50. Also you can check Kalinka. The UTG quick release mount is pretty low too and only $35. It's as low as you can get and still be able to remove the dust cover. I don't think you cn remove the dust cover with the BP-02.

I've got a ProMag side mount on my Saiga .223. It cost me around $20, and it's high enough that I can use my iron sights when I'm not using my scope. I'd say look into that.
