From what I've read, when you convert a Saiga to the standard AK format (pistol grip, etc.), one of the parts groups switched out is the trigger group. I've also heard that the after-market (American made, I believe its Tapco?) trigger group is a big improvement over the original.

My question is: Will this trigger group work if you don't do the rest of the conversion? My goal would be to get a Saiga and leave the stock the way it is, but I'd love to upgrade the trigger.

Since the conversion trigger group sits in a different position in the receiver, I suspect it can't be used as a straight replacement for the original since its interplay with the bolt would be positioned differently. If that's the case, does anyone know of a trigger upgrade for the standard trigger position/location?
