The market was flooded with $300-400 Saiga rifles not long ago.

I have a hard time finding them anywhere, at any price.

Where'd they go?

Rumor has it more are coming in sometime this month...

Can't tell you what price they will be going for.

Good luck

Saw two new 7.62x39mm Saigas at a gun show this weekend. One was selling for $548 and the other for $499.

Outrageous.

They are being restructured and reorganized ever since the Russian military cancelled their contract for AKM-74s.

We will see...

Saiga seem to come in waives and the supply regularly runs dry before a new shipment comes in. As the supply dries up prices climb, particularly for the shotguns. When the new shipment comes in and the market is awash in saigas again prices fall. This cycle has repeated itself over and over again over the last few years.

Its good to see the baseless rumor starting and fear mongering are in full swing in this thread though.

I'm not sure why anyone would pay more for a saiga sporter than one could buy a vepr for right now.

However, a few years back I sold a NIB sporter S12 for $800 when stock was scarce. A few months later when the newest shipment came in they were selling for $450 again. Patience/buying at the right time in the shipping cyle can save you a lot of money when it comes to saigas.

From what I understand......

....they come into the states in 2-3 batches a year. When they come in, they're cheap. When they thin out just before the next wave, they're pricey. Of course recent political events aren't helping pricing and availibility.

Manufacturer is going through bankruptcy restructuring. Our Russian "friends" are a little new to capitalism ... give them time. (They may not have figured out government bailouts yet.)

The AK is too big to fail!
