Here's a question for those of you who have come into contact with and/or use either of the bolt-action rifles of the series' mentioned in the title. For the Sako 75s (and maybe 85s, haven't looked too closely at them) that have that removable key deal-y at the rear end of the bolt, how much (if ever) does that part shake, rattle, and/or roll? How cheap does it feel and look? Do you wish that it wasn't there? Has it ever been an issue or consideration to you? Any reason to distrust that little key mechanism and detachable thing?
(or am I getting my details slightly confused?)

I'm curious about this, because one of my co-workers has several older Sakos that predate the 75 series, and says that the little safety thingbob made him have some reservations about the 75 onwards; something about a separate plasticky piece hanging off the bolt of an otherwise superb rifle didn't sit too well with him, and I've not seen one in person for quite some time, so thought I'd ask the guru that is THR about the whole thing.

Any/all information about the system in question is appreciated.

Eight, I've got a Sako 75 in 7mm-08 with the key. The mechanism is metal and doesn't rattle. Though it doesn't affect function at all, I don't like it, because it's just another extra part that I, personally, feel is useless. But I just set it to be permanently unlocked and I don't ever have to deal with it.

So, you don't have to worry about dirt and grime in it? Or is it more like the S&W "key" that you can get away with never messing with and it won't affect function (unless you're going crazy with some variable)?
