One of the local gunshops has a Sako AIII in 270 winchester for sale, and I have a few questions.

The owner had it rebarrelled with a Douglas barrel; Isn't Sako known for their excellent barrels?? Who shoots a .270 enough to have it rebarreled??

Should the Douglas barrel have any markings on it?? It doesn't have any at all

They are asking $750, it has a nice VariX-3 scope and is in about 90% condition

So......Should I buy it?

Is it factory?

I'd make certain that the balance of the gun is factory. Sako makes an excellent action and lots of them have been used to build up custom rifles. Look at some factory rifles on gunsamerica.com for comparison.

That said, the rifle may still be worth the price, but custom guns can be harder to get your money out of if you later decide to sell.
