ok heres the deal im buying my first house and some how ive ended up with 3500 dollars to drop on a rifle, and im leaning towards a sako trg 22 308. ive always wanted one and this is the first chance iv had to break away for the ol rem 700. question is what are my other options, i would realy like to stay with 308 ''i just prefer 308''. makes models ect. im not a fan of one off custom guns. thanks any info is helpfull!!

thanks guys ive found one in ca that comes with a bipod, scope mounts that whole nine. for 2500.00. i beleive ill be making the purchase tuesday and with any luck ill have it monday. ill keep you guys posted

The Savage precision line with 6oz. accu-trigger are shooters right out of the box and they make a combo with a leupold scope that fits your price range.

Very nice rifles, IMHO .308 is a little weak for that kind of rifle. I'd look to .300 win mag or .338.

If your buying the sports car go for the big motor.:D

Uh, no.

.308 is perfect to learn long-range shooting. If he ever wants hot-rod performance all he has to do is rebarrel to .260 Remington.

A magnum is a bad choice because it gets in the way of learning in both cost and recoil.
