I sure would appreciate some input here guys..... Just need to clear something up that I have some question about.

Lets pretend that there is a shotgun in IA for sale that someone wants to purchase in MN.

Can the Seller send the gun to the Buyer direct? (without an FFL transfer or going through a gun shop at all)

Does it matter what states are involved? (do some states prohibit this and others not?)

Reference me to actual law if possible.

Thanks for the help.

1. Can the Seller send the gun to the Buyer direct? (without an FFL transfer or going through a gun shop at all)

2. Does it matter what states are involved? (do some states prohibit this and others not?)

3. Reference me to actual law if possible.

1. Nope. It's against Federal law and none of the shippers, including USPS will do it.

2. Nope. It's against Federal law.

3. 18 USC 922 (a)(3) and 18 USC 922 (a)(5):

Also, there have been many threads discussing just this topic - at least two of them in the past week, in fact. The relevant laws are also stickied at the top of this forum.

Please do a search next time.

Thanks NavyLT...

kingpin008- you are either WAY better at the search thing than I am, or you have never used it.

I answer questions all the time from people asking 'the same thing' with a different twist. I don't simply waste my time responding with no useful information and then make like it's some big trouble to me. If you don't like it, don't bother reading (it's not like the title disguised it to look like some more interesting thread to you).
