San Bernardino Ca and gang crime involving guns

Caught this article from the San Berdoo Sun. It is an anti-gun paper
which really should be no surprise since it's owned by Gannet.
I'm pretty close to Berdoo and it's always been sort of a hot spot,
but with so many moving out from L.A and other areas it's just
turned into a mess now..
However no truer words have ever been stated..>

Gun laws, such as the federal Assault Weapons Ban and waiting periods for handgun purchases in California, do little to stem the tide of gun use among street gangs, police said.

In California, many assault rifles and their copies are illegal, deputies said. The state has strong gun laws despite the expiration of the Assault Weapons Ban last year.

But laws have little impact on gang members - until they are charged and convicted - because they generally do not get their guns lawfully.

"They're not registering them, and there's no waiting period for that," Espindola said.

Laws also have no effect on young gang members who have grown up in the lifestyle and watched as their grandfathers, fathers, uncles and brothers all participated in the same gang.

Just because leftist extremist so-called "gun control laws" have no impact upon criminals doesn't mean they don't work. They make it more difficult and expensive for law-abiding American citizens to keep and bear arms, don't they?

Gun control works. It disarms its target: the law-abiding, peaceful citizen.

Even Sarah Brady admits that criminals do not follow gun laws, but she isn't worried about the criminal. She is worried about you. You may be able to resist, you must be disarmed at once!

It's not about guns, it's about control (of you).
