San Diego Police Chief Says Americans Can Be Disarmed Within A Generation

Police in metropolitan and urban areas are probably less enthusiastic about citizens owning guns IMHO. More crime happens in densley populated cities, couple that with a police force the size of a small army (and in some cases armed as well as one too.)
When populations get that big the relationship between officer and citizen is much different than say in a rural community of 2000 vs. A 2,000,000 people metropolis.

Off that tangent and to the thread, I'm afraid ol' pinkosheriff may have a shard of truth in his words. Unfortunatley in today's day and age of media worship, Internet junkies, smartphone hypnosis, reality tv, idolatry of fake people and zero tolerance zones; things are only going downhill. When an agenda is being pushed, it is really just crammed down your throat and pounded in your head. The future generation will be more susceptible to advertisements and current trending due to technology. In about 50 years independant thought will be considered a primitive trait humans evolved past. I really feel like reading some Welles or Hainline after that rant.

The vast majority, if not every single one of Chicago Policemen (100+ friends and family, active and retired, including my entire immediate family) I know feel citizens should own guns for self-defense. And I have been told by many of them most of the rank-and-file feel the same way.
