We don't have a right to own a car.
Yes we do.....but not an inalienable right. A right is sometimes defined as a entitlement or privilege.

San Jose's hoping it will cost more than it's worth to you.Wonder what that insurance would cost a individual?
So which is it? It is something that "no city or state in the U.S." has done, or is it a "proven strateg[y]?""The proposals include two requirements for gun owners that no city or state in the U.S. has ever implemented: the purchase of liability insurance and the payment of annual fees to fund violence-reduction initiatives," San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo wrote in an op-ed with the Los Angeles Times last week. ....
"San Jose has an opportunity to become a model for the rest of the nation to invest in proven strategies to reduce gun violence, domestic violence and suicide and the many other preventable harms from firearms in our communities," Liccardo added, the Los Angeles Times reported.

A privilege is not a right. Driving is a privilege, not a right. Otherwise it would be very difficult to suspend a driver license.
That means that owning and using a hammer, or any other tool (including a car), is "a privilege", and owning and using a firearm is a right. correct???
The lawmakers/lawyers/bureaucrats/etc. who think along that line also consider being a white Americans "a privilege"
