That 70% may have come from a Gallup Poll phone survey. I'll try to find out.

I believe that stat was accurate. If you go around and ask people (uninformed) if they want "assualt weapons" banned of course they would say yes. They would also agree with a ban on sledgehammers if I refered to them as brain bludgeoners. It is all in how it is stated.

Take that same 70% out shooting with "Assault" rifles and "hunting" rifles and clearly point out the differences (hardly any) and that %70 would turn into a %20.

The hard part of doing that is getting the spoon fed sheeple to remove their heads from their rectums.

And even if 70% wanted to ban assault weapons, what ever
happened to 'minority rights'????

They're in tact thanks to the US Constitution. Our Forefathers knew it was more consistent than any " majority view de jour" ...Thank God! The Constitution protects the minority view no matter how wacko the majority gets! What a concept!
