So there's the endless debate over varmint/deer/elk/zombie rifles & calibers...
so just for fun... but still on the serious side...
What combo do you think would be satisfactory for BF/Squatch defense?
Consider that it is bipedal, very fast with a 4-6' stride, usually 6-10' tall with weights estimated at 700-1000+ lbs and while it's usual habitat is thick wooded or brush areas, they have been seen in open areas and meadows as well...shots would probably be danger close within 50-100yds and closer...generally they are loners but there have been many reports of 2-3 being spotted and in some very rare and extreme instances groups ranging from 3-6+...
Keep in mind though that the larger groups usually only are reported after someone has either shot or shot at a single or pair of them... they seem to exact some revenge and increase their numbers and very actively come after you after that...so if you have to take a shot and it is successful you would possibly have to worry about an offensive or territorial group coming after you with fairly clear intentions.
Something that wouldn't break the bank, esp ammo wise...
also consider it a pack gun... so lightweight or not overly heavy would be ideal...
What would you choose?
