Can anyone help my friend to make up his mind!!!

He saw a Sauer S 200 TR sport rifle and desperately wants to buy one.
The rifle has to be ordered and no test at the range is possible prior to buying it.

Is it a fine rifle, pleasant to shoot, accurate and worth the price?

What of 3 calibers to get in chambered for: .308 Win, 6,5x55 or 6mm Norma BR? (the last one is a single loader) considering effective range and long barell life.

Can it be scoped the way the SSG 300 is and with the same accesories and the fron sight removed (not permanently)? What kind if rear sight mount rail it has?

Any info will be greately appreciated!

They are very finely built rifles, most of the ones I have seen have fairly palin wood by my American tastes (for the price), but they are almost always good shooters. I like the 6.5 but to be honest would probably go for the .308 for ammo availability.

I personally like them, and if he likes the styling he won't be sorry he got one.

Thank You guys!

My friends bank account is not really that big, but he is willing to sacrifice a lot to get something he will not regret.

We actually thought .308 will be the best, but none of us have ever shot a 6,5mm, so we thought someone more knowleadgable would convince us otherwise...

The last pic on the 200 STR info site shows SSG 3000 with the bipod mount adapter turned back to front. I saw a Kettner catalogue (a large German guns and hunting products distributor) showing a 205 SSG version with the versa pod bipod mount turned exactly the same way. Am I missing something or perhaps they do not know how to do it properly?
