I'd like to add a sling to my 99 in .243. It already has a scope and carries nicely on the hills that I hunt with it. I'm wondering if I can add a sling with out "recking" the value of the gun, and if there is a preferred way to put the swivel on the fore end??

Thanks much,
Tony

There are so many sling mounts it will blow your mind, the simplest type will just screw into your stock forward of your weak hand. If you don't want to drill into your stock you can buy the barrel clamp type.

I wouldn't worry about a sling mount damaging your gun value, as long as you can find the center of the stock on the first try.;)

I put a Marlin ( I forgot which model) barrel clamp, it works well and didn't wreck the stock. Plus putting a stock mounted clamp will greatly limit where you can hold the stock, I would get the barrel mounted clamp again.

Never thought of a barrel clamp, thanks guys!!!!!!!! Any particular make or model?? Makes the decision a lot easier................
