What sould I expect to pay for a Savage 112 BVSS in 25-06? The one I'm looking at is $400, looks unfired and does not have the Accutrigger, but it has a very nice trigger. Drilled and tapped with no sights.

I will be putting peep sights on it for 300 yard International competition. Any recommendations for good iron sights?

It's a laminate stock and looks just like this:

What do you think? And what would you expect to pay?

Thanks!

I don't know anything about 25-06, but the 12BVSS is a good rifle. Fluted heavy barrel. The laminated stock is very nice. I bought a pulled 12BVSS stock for a Savage I built myself. The only concern I would have is that the palm swell is very large. You might want to shoulder the rifle and see how it feels to you.

$400 isn't a bad price considering it's the laminate stock and not the generic synthetic. The only negative is the lack of Accutrigger, but some people aren't fans of the Accutrigger and opt for an aftermarket trigger like the Sharp Shooter Supply or Rifle Basix triggers.

I paid $465 for a 12 BVSS-S in .223 w/accutrigger and thought I got a good deal (This is in California). The stock is excellent providing stability and allowing you to sling up to your heart's content without effecting accuracy.

I also bought a bolt, barrel and barrel nut wrench that allows me to convert to 260 remington in about 10 minutes.

Accuracy in either caliber is outstanding (better than my R 700s and W 70s). You won't be disappointed.
