Savage 116 .300 winmag?!

Hello all,

I recently picked up a Savage 116 .300WINMAG.... I took it in on a trade, and have relatively little in the rifle. The problem is I cannot seem to find out anything on the rifle. Its a model 116, SS barrel on black synthetic stock. Its pre-accutrigger model. I have been unable to find out the manufacture date, value, specs, etc. I have a .300 weatherby mag and my buddy is wanting to buy this one, but I have no clue what to price it at. Please help!

That rifle sells for $550-$600 new. I've found that somewhere between 50%-75% of that is generally a fair price for a comparable used gun. It really depends on the individual gun and condition. It would probably be priced higher in a store, but to sell reasonably fast to an individual around $400-$450 would be fair I think. But a lot depends on exactly how much you actually have in it and how close you are to your friend.

With some buyers the lack of the accutrigger would be a bonus, others would consider it a liability.

The blued version is currently ~$350 new. If you can get someone to pay more than $300 you're doing well.
