Savage 11f after market sights

I just boutht a savage 11f .223 off gunbroker.com. What i'm really interested in doing with it though is installing a peepsight on it for my offhand open sight work on the rifle range.

I would like to know if any of you have this rifle if the front sight is able to be replaced and what sights to look at.

Williams makes a peep sight that screws into the holes in the receiver for scope mounts. www.midwayusa.com sells them for around $30-35. Midway has a good selection of both front and rear sights.

Yeah, as soon as I posted this I checked out williams' sights. I like the idea of them but I don't know if the peep sight in the back will be low enough for the front sight. Does anyone know what kind of setting the front sight has? Is it dovetailed or is it screwed on or is it welded/epoxied.

I guess i will call savage tomorrow to see if can get some info from them if the forums don't turn up some answers
