Hey y'all,
Just had a question about something I hope to own someday, the Savage 24 over/under rifle/shotgun. I'd love to research for the right combo, but don't know how many different arrangements were actually made.

Can anyone list all the caliber combos that have been offered over the years? Thanks in advance!

If I remember right...

.22lr/22mag over .410
.22lr/.22mag/.222/.223/.357Mag/.357Max/30/30 over 20Gauge
.308 under 12gauge.

These were the most common, although I think in the last few years that they made them, you could get .17 over 20 gauge.

I loved these guns as a child, and still have two today....

I've got the 222/20 ga. used it to hunt quail and shot the occassional coyote that were becoming all too plentiful. I put a recoil pad on mine cause the 20 ga. would recoil much more than a single shot equivalent 20 ga. I wish when I got mine they would have had the 223/20ga.

You better plan on buying a bunch of them before you find one that shoots BOTH bbls to the same point of aim!

I've owned several now, and not one of them did. I just won't settle for "it's close", or using "kentucky windage" to hit something with one.

I've got a .22/410 I bought about 30 yrs. ago, still shoots dead on with the .22. The stock hadn't has any type of oil, lemon oil, since it left the factory, looked that way anyway. A few hrs. of lemon oil, looks brand new.

I have .22 over 20 gauge...

Came in a double sided folding "leatherette" case...break it down, barrel in one side - stock in other. Holds 10 .22 and 3 20 gauge shells in butt of stock.

Neat package! .. And sights are for rifle barrel!...Shotgun will be close enough! :p

My 22WMR/.410 shoots great and the barrels are well regulated within 50 yards. The rifle barrel is quite accurate too. The older models like mine have the barrels brazed together along their entire length for better accuracy. I love mine.
