http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2010/01/new-savage-m93-17-hmr-varminttactical-rimfire/,,,,, well mine is juct like this one Except for my stock is olive-green and has a flash suppressor on it.
I KNOW ,, I KNOW I normally wouldnt even consider a "tacticool" gun but this one was on sale at Cabella's for $399 and the only other choice was wood-stock/stainless barrel ( I varmint hunt so i didnt want to have to Camo a new gun) I dropped a Nikon proview 3x9-50 which i found to be way too little glass for what this gun can do,, at 200-yard paper target i can barely see bulls-eye-center,, so im gonna put the same scope i have on my REM-700 VTR .243 (A Nikon Monarch 4x12-42) which may sound like overkill, but this little baby is just getting warmed-up at 150-yards,, so after pushing about 50-shells thru it im putting 1/2-dollar size holes in paper at 200-yds.
So i took it back to where i trap yotes and coons in the winter to "manage" some rampant skunk population, set some table scraps on the bottom of this old-rock quarry floor about 80-feet below me and about 200-yds out, 1st stripe-kitty i shot right in front shoulder (EXACTLY where crosshairs were) and the next 2 were BOOM-headshot !, BOOM headshot !! i couldnt believe it !!
I haven't even messed with factory Accutrigger setting (feels smooth) not quite sure what # it breaks at, The ONLY things i would hope to change is to get a 10-round mag instead of 5,, AND swapping clips without taking eye's out of scope required some practice (kinda picky to insert new clip)
Im pretty sure i need to heavily-oil my Ruger 10/22's as they might get forgotten in safe for awhile,, Even with ammo 2x the price ($12 for 17-gr Hornady's) it's still pretty cheap to shoot.
