I picked up a 75 year old Savage 99 in .300 Savage at a pawn shop. It has a good bore, no chips or cracks in the wood. It did not have the elevation part in the rear site and from looking at like models I don't think the installed sight was correct. So I finally found the correct one. My question is (since I have never removed and replaced a rifle fixed sight) from which side does the sight drive out? Say I'm looking at the sight from the rear.
