I have been looking around trying to decide on a rifle to purchase. I have been to nearly a dozen stores trying to learn everything that I can and watching price tags as I go.

The best value that I can find is at Bimart (It is a chain located in the northwest).

They have Savage rifles in several different calibers (30-06, 243, etc) for $359, and are now advertising $30 off this week. These come with a sholder strap and a scope.

I do not want to advertise for Bimart, these prices are just much lower than I have seen anywhere else. My fear is that I will "get what I paid for" I do not want to buy garbage.

Does anyone out there have any experience with these rifles. I would really appreciate any advice that you can give.

Thank you

I have a 116 in .30-06. I love it. My dad has a patriot arms revelation so seeing both ends of the spectrum I can tell you this thing is awesome. Had work done to it by S&S and I can reliably take it out to 800 yards hitting sub 5 inch groups consistently.

no difference, they do the same thing wally does, buy a billion of them to save on costs.

There have been similar arguments that walmart has lower quality rifles than you local gun store, also very untrue.

Thats the Savage package deal.....Excellent Value for starters and with the $30 off I would buy 2. Comes with something like a $30 Simmons 3x9x40 disposable scope..... Local prices are $347 at Walmart, Local gun shops $440 to $550..... Maybe on a good day and a little luck I could pick one up for $326 tax free on CLNC...... I got my last one at Bass Pro for around $500 because they had the only one I was looking for and needed at the time....

Buy it Shoot it!!!
Upgrade the scope
shoot it!!!
up grade the trigger
Shoot it!!
Maybe a better barrel and a Stock change

But on the average it will be a great deal out of the box;)

It's the same Savage you would buy at any retail outlet. Bimart sale price is hard to beat. Go to Sportsman outlet on 82nd and see the same rifle for 80-100 more.

Two people in our Deer hunting camp have bought the Bi Mart Savages in the last few years. They won't win a beauty contest and the scope is kind of cheap and so so. But they do seem to work ok from the two I have been around.
