I recently put together a new rifle I bought. ..it's a savage 12 lrp 6.5 Creedmoor, topped with a vortex viper hs-t 4-16x44...it's reformed. 243 norma brass and neck turned. ..i have fireformed the brass and worked up my load...it's using 123gr hornady amax over 42 gr of accurate 4350...

Good luck with that gun farmerboy78. I have been yearning for
a 6.5 Creedmoor ever since I went to Wyoming last year and
watched an old rancher shooting one. It was accurate and the
old boy could really shoot it.

Congrats I just bought a 12 LRP 6.5 CM myself in November and topped it with a Vortex also. I got a case of 140 A-Max to shoot and then I will reload for it.

Sweet. I have an LRP in .260 Rem. Awesome trigger. Accuracy has been only so-so. Have tried three different bullets, a couple different powders. Using Lapua brass. Half inch groups with 142gr SMKs is the best I've got so far. So I'm a little disappointed in that...was hoping for some bug holes. Maybe I'll rebarrel it at some point.

Nice. I am working on shooting up some 120 Amaxes from my Savage 11 and will be loading up some 140's.

I got same setup rifle scope and all love it selling my 308 Creed does everything 308 does with less recoil. Congrats let me know how load does still looking for the perfect load all shoot well just looking for best

Well guys my preliminary load work was done at 50 yds... with the 123gr amax over 42 gr of accurate 4350 it will put 3 shots into one hole...I have loaded up a few more rounds to stretch it out to a distance. ..I will give you guys a range report soon...I have read and noticed that this rifle is load picky from reading and first hand experience. ..I couldn't get 140 s to shoot, well not anywhere near what the 123gr amax does...but I have noticed that it likes around the 2900 fps mark, the 123gr amax is running at an average of 2920fps...the accurate 4350 fills the case right to the bottom of the neck...I also tried varget, but the results I wanted didn't pan out like I'd hoped. The accuracy was great, but I was having pressure issues so I went to this powder I had on hand...

Loaded up 40 rds last night and went shooting today... using my kestrel, this savage was dropping rounds accurately @ 536 yds...varmints will be in trouble at this distance.

My .260 "likes" the same load (42.0 of IMR4350 or RL17). It likes RL22 even better @ 47.0gr. Either get 2,900 fps from the Rem. Mod-7 1/10" twist 20"bbl. (factory). I plan to try it on deer this fall.
The 123A-max is the heaviest "tipped" bullet it'll shoot decent. (Remington "claims"1/9", but my rulers say differently.)

Yeah with a 1 in 10" I'd say that's pushing it...my lrp is a 1 in 8" but it shoots the crap out of these 123gr amax bullets...can't say enough about a savage rifle!

Damn you drive a hard bargain. 1/2" accuracy from a stock rifle you can buy for $900 is only so-so?

I know...that's not bad but the best 5 shot group I've got is 1/2". I've beat that with a sporter weight .223 bolt action with a 3-9 scope using handloads. I've shot better groups with my .17hmr with a 3-9 scope. So with meticulous handloads using expensive brass, expensive bullets, a 22x power scope and amazing trigger I just had hopes for some tiny groups.

But you are probably right...I shouldn't complain too much.

Went to the range today with my Creedmoor to stretch her out a bit! At the range the steel starts at 300yds and goes out to 810yds... I worked her out to 700 yds using that 123gr amax and my strelok pro ballistic app... the targets are sillouette targets that are 21 tall and 12 wide... I know the 140gr bullets buck the wind better, but this rifle eats up the 123gr and places them spot on! I was having so much fun that I shot most of my rounds at 550-600, loving this rifle!

Would you rather have the savage or the ruger creedmoore predator. I.E. which is the better shooting rifle

Well I think it's personal preference, I love savages....I have 3! I have had ruger rifles too, but to me, they lacked the accuracy that the savages have.... you can get lucky and get a ruger that will shoot, but it's a crap shot... I definitely prefer the savage!

Creedmore is 308 size head and action length? What I am getting at is you could rebarrel a 243 to 6.5 CM?
