Basically, about 12yrs ago I bought a Savage Mod 111, 300 Win Mag, rifle/scope combo. Less than one box of shells through it, the reticle on the cheap scope that was on it broke- from the recoil I'm guessing. I have a Prostaff on it now. It came with a synthetic stock. I really wouldn't hunt anything with this rifle, but would like to do some casual target shooting 300-500 yds with it. Here's what I want:
1. A wood stock. Preferably walnut. I looked at Boyd's, but I'm not sure if they have what I want. I'm left handed and don't want a right handed stock- but this is a right handed rifle (the synthetic stock has no cheek rest). If I could find a walnut stock without the cheekrest altogether that would be even better.
2. A metal trigger guard. Is there any place I can find one? It may seem petty, but it just irks me that so many rifle parts are plastic. If I was buying a rifle today it would be a requirement, but I bought this when my tastes were less discriminating.
