I just got my Redding dies and was so excited to finally be able to load for this. Well I worked up a round and then decided to test fire it. Well I got a click and not bang. I ejected it and tried it several times. Nothing - not a dimple or nothing. Listed below is my load:

Norma 6mm BR Brass
Powder: IMR4895 Started with 30.5 gr
Bullet: 70 GR Sierra HPBT
Trim: 1.555
COAL: 2.150

Guys I am concerned. Got any ideas. Disturbed in NorthEast Florida. :(

I have brand new brass but i went ahead and full length them. the primers are winchester small. I am using my Sierra reloading manual i believe version 5. cant remember. there is no way you could get a coal of 2.441 on that cartridge. I started out with the seating die way out and it was at 2.300 and was about to come out of the cartridge. i am pretty sure on that coal. just so strange. Let me look at the accu trigger like Joe said. this is so strange. i mean the darn primer is not even dimpled. well get back to you all.
 
I checked out the video but i dont think that is my problem. i guess i will be calling savage monday. shesssssh. brand new gun.
 
Waiting to call savage in the morning. I keep looking on line and see real diff specs for the 6mm Norma br. I see posts saying coal of 2.44. There is no way it could be same cartridge. Weird. I sat bullet on top of cartridge and it comes to 2.31. Really confusing. But with all that said if I just put cartridge with only a primer it does not fire or dimple.
 
yeah, I doubt your issue is related to your ammo. Berger manual lists 2.441 as the COAL for all bullet weights. 2.441 is also listed as the max overall length which is consistent with info shown on 6mmbr site. Considering the 6BR Norma can be loaded up to 115 grain, and you are on the low end of the bullet weight spectrum, that's probably why your's so short. By seating it how you have, how far from the lands are you? I would assume the 1:12 twist lands are closer compared to a 1:8 twist which the heavier bullets are geared for. I guess in my initial post I didn't think through it. Just saw that major difference and wanted to throw a caution out.

Here's a pic from 6mmbr site. You can see a 70gr bullet is approx 0.3 shorter than a 105gr. That explains your length

Guys i figure out my problem. pretty dumb and novice for sure. I noticed last night that the bolt did not seem to be completely closing. in checking that was indeed the case. it is a screw in the scope mount. i removed it and it closed completely. i know grrrrrr.. the trigger was going click but i guess that was just the accutrigger setup and the pin was not contacting the primer which in this case was a good thing. cool. sorry for the dumb thread. shessssh. thanks for info on the bullet stuff JB27. that makes sense.
