I need some information on this old single shot hammerless Savage shotgun.

1. What is this receiver pattern called?
2. Where can I buy the parts pictured(and what is the technical name for them)?
3. Would someone kindly direct me to a guide on how to reassemble it, I thought it would be a piece of cake to do, but I was wrong:eek:.

I have a decent bit of experience with other guns and have a fair selection of tools, this is my first hammerless single shot I've worked on so extensively.

Oh and while you're here, could some one give me the definition of a 'permanent' muzzle attachment?

Thanks in advance.:)

You have a box lock, the piece on the bottom is the sear, the other is a whatchamacallit.
Check with Numrich for parts and schematics.

The lower piece or sear appears to be cracked. Perhaps have this brazed & rebored, or redrilled what ever the terminology may be. I'm sure a good smith could handle that for you.
Regarding the whatchamacallit or knuckle lever (not real name, just sounds good) that also appears to be worn or broken. I'm sure a good smith could build this up with weld & machine as required to function properly.
Whatever route you go, good luck & enjoy. :):)

Digger.

Thanks, guys.

Sear was my first guess, but I thought the terminology was different with this type of setup.
I knew they were broken, that's why I posted them.:p
The barrel release lever(?) is the part that doesn't work at all, it's broken off at the point where it connects to the open/cocking lever meaning it needs to be replaced and once you close a barrel on it you have to remove the barrel pivot pin, I can fix the sear.

I really need to find a guide on putting it back together.:)
