Probably wasn’t a great seller
I never heard of the MSR until now. Guess the AR market is flooded with different brands. And Savage wasn't holding their own. I used to like Coors arctic ice beer. Bud ice was out selling it. So Coors dropped it. Myself i feel some sales is better than no sales.
The entire series? All models? That seems improbable.
Lack of demand is one reason. Savage may just be jumping the gun on the House's vote to ban assault weapons too. If that bill gets much farther, I think we will be seeing ARs and MSRs disappear off a lot more websites.

How many different ways can you dress up an AR? That market is so flooded I don't blame them. Most people's first thought when it came to buying an AR certainly wasn't Savage.
That was more or less a ceremonial vote only. Its going nowhere in the Senate. The Dems would need to gain several Senate seats in the upcoming midterms to pass it.

Their focus was more on AR-10 sized frames (and calibers), and sales (let alone distribution) were not that great over the last 5-6 years.Savage may just be jumping the gun on the House's vote to ban assault weapons too
There were a lot of people on this very board that said it wasn't going to pass the House. It did. Same folks are saying it won't pass the Senate. Hell it was a Texas Republican Senator (Cornyn) who was the main R negotiator of the last gun control bill. You can believe it won't pass the Senate if you want. I do not have the same faith in politicians who give the 2A lip service like Cornyn, Rubio, and Scott.
We can't afford to get complacent. Remember the reason the bill, HR 1808, skated through the house because a couple of Republicans went turncoat. That can happen elsewhere.
It ain't gonna happen. The Senate already took up a gun control bill earlier in the year and about all they could negotiate was expanded funding for red flag laws.
Under THIS Senate this bill is dead

So, the events of last Thursday are probably less an impetus to their catalog change (from back in February or March--so it was likely decided last Fall in the Boardroom) than the realities of a saturated market.
Trust me I wasn't one saying it won't pass the House . The House has no filibuster and the Dems have a straight up majority there. Even a vote along party lines they can pass anything they want (and you still had 5 Democrats voting against it there).
In the Senate you'd have to have full Democrat support for the bill PLUS 10 Republican Senators. It ain't gonna happen. The Senate already took up a gun control bill earlier in the year and about all they could negotiate was expanded funding for red flag laws.
Under THIS Senate this bill is dead. I'll bet my forum membership on it . Now if the midterms go badly all bets are off, but it won't pass this time.
Complacency happens at the polls. You're not changing anyone's mind who's already in office, but trust me there's not enough support for it to pass right now. Just make sure you vote in November to keep it that way.

This is not unlike 15 years ago where everyone and their dog was adding a 1911 to their offerings because that was the hot gun fad at the time. Now a lot of those have fallen by the wayside.
The AR market has collapsed. Probably 3/4 of iall used gun listings I view can be best summarized as "I paid way too much for this thing" can I please please get something for it!
The AR is such a well sorted easy to make properly platform that name recognition and advertising dollars really carries no weight in the market and people are perfectly content with mixmaster self builds or second tier didn't exist 10 years ago brands
No .308 AR10's for a reasonable price anywhere in Ohio, it seems.
