Savage not feeding after bedding work

This gun is a Savage Model 10 223 with a Stagger feed, blind magazine. In order to properly do the stock bedding I had to remove the magazine box from the receiver. Which wasn't an easy task and actually had to do this twice. I was really afraid if bending or distorting the box but I don't think I did.

The issue is that the first shell will feed as it should into the chamber. The second shell gets dislodged and pops up and out of the receiver. The last round also feeds just fine.

Now I have no idea as to why or what to look for!

Feed lips probably got bent, I've had that happen removing the affixed savage boxes.

Ditto what LoonWulf wrote . It does not take much at all to bend them, and just a little bend will mess up feeding . Tweak it a little at a time and I bet you will be fine .
