The action has had the bottom machined for a magazine so rigidity won’t be improved with a blind magazine set-up.

Action rigidity is not improved, but stock stiffness is. When the stock is stiffer between our action screws, in theory, we have less opportunity for variability of force between the stock and action - which is the whole point of bedding. A matter of bag or bipod pressure flexing the stock beneath the action to varying magnitude.

But you have to shoot pretty damned well to be able to empirically observe action or stock inlet flex influence. You DON’T have to shoot very well for the influence of poor bedding to rear its ugly head.

Will that work with the OP’s bottom release? AMM seems to indicate no.

Cheap and “Target” makes me think of a hunk of something in the stock below the bolt I could drop a round on and it would feed as I close the bolt.

If it’s strictly for target work you don’t need a magazine at all. Make it a single shot.

I have looked at that stock and and don't like it, but if you would look back at post #21 you would see I already ordered a stock from Richards Microfit.
