Is the firing pin on this shotgun a one-piece or two-piece part? I haven't figured out how to remove the pin from the bolt, but the tip moves independently of the shaft.

I'm working on this gun for a friend who complained of misfires. A broken firing pin could certainly cause that.

The Savage Model 67 series has a firing pin, AND a firing pin extension, so it could be called two piece.

You can get an exploded view drawing online from Gun Parts for less than a dollar.

Thanks for the info, guys. After a much-needed cleaning, I fired 25 rounds with no malfunctions. I think the problem was just a filthy firing pin.
