I am planning on buying the Stevens model 200 in .223 and since its relativly inexpensive I know that it will not come with the things I want namely a good stock, and a quality barrel. So pretty much this is going to be a range/project rifle and things will be done on the basis of money avail.. Now i have heard with the model 200 I can use stocks and barrels that are made for the savage model 10 is this true or false? And if it is false what model of savage do I order to have it work in the stevens 200. And also the barrel removal is it the same as the savages, I understand that they are made from the same company but im asking JIC. And also I understand that it would probably be cheaper to buy a savage out right but I would change the stock on the gun regardless and the only savages I can find/order the dealers want around 5-6 hundred for what i want. And hey DIY is half the fun right.
